Thank you for the suggestion. I actually manage the Find A Grave Memorial you referenced.
The problem I have is in finding 'proof' of what the family knows. I'm searching for real documentation that would satisfy the likes of lineage organizations. Church records, newspaper articles, etc.... that would prove the link between generations is all I need.
Find A Grave does not prove who his parents were, it has simply been posted there as one person's opinion of who his parents were.
Thank you for your suggestion though.
Dear Ms. Gregg,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the Internet Archive and located the book, The Pedens of America; an outline history of the ancestry and descendants of John Peden and Margaret McDill Peden: Scotland, Ireland, America that has a section titled “Records copied from a family bible in Kentucky” which contains a reference to the lineage of Moses Peden on page 532.
We suggest that you contact the Barren County Clerk's Office for any probate records of Moses or John Peden as well as request a search from the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives .
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
