Seeking records of the Graysville, GA Post Office

    Dan Phillips Newbie

I'm looking for all of the documents I can find pertaining to the Graysville, GA Post Office, which has existed since 1862. The US government, I believe, leased or rented space from a private individual(s) until 1974 when a new building was built. There must have been an agreement to lease the property and compensation for salaries and supplies. I now own a building which at one time was used as a post office. It still has bars on the windows and my wife remembers going in to it as a child. Graysville, GA was a prominent location during the Civil War and at one time had a field hospital. That building has since burned down.
