Dear Ms. Smith,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The National Archives only has custody of records created by the federal government that document Tribal Nations during American nationhood, and even then records are sparse until the mid 19th century. Most Native Americans were forced to leave Pennsylvania during the 1700's, when eastern tribes were being displaced by colonial expansion. Since those who remained may have been assimilated into European-American society, they were not documented in the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) records.
We suggest that you contact the National Museum of the American Indian to search their holdings for the Central Pennsylvania area as well as review the FamilySearch Research wiki for Indigenous Peoples of Pennsylvania and the sites for Pennsylvania Indian Tribes and Pennsylvania Indian Tribes and Languages. Also, please contact the Pennsylvania State Archives for possible records.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
