          Dear Ms. Mascia,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 1 record series, 11 file units, and 3 items in various record groups regarding Circarama but we are unable to determine from the descriptions if any of these go into detail about the design of the system and the history of how it was designed. One item that may be of particular interest is Building Circarama which presents a series of clips photographed in different locations that illustrate the requirements necessary for the construction of Circarama motion picture installations. For more information about specific records, please email the reference unit listed as the contact in the Catalog description.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from the various NARA reference units. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.

Additionally, patent application US2942516A covers some of the technology used in the system and is available online through Google Patents.

Finally, we suggest that you contact the Walt Disney Archives for assistance with your research topic.

We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
