 Because Andrew Jackson lived and died long before the establishment of the modern Presidential Library system , the National Archives does not have his presidential records. 
 
 Instead, the Andrew Jackson Papers are in the custody of the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress . Plus, the University of Tennessee runs The Papers of Andrew Jackson project which has the goal of collecting and publishing Jackson&rsquo;s entire extant literary record. Other sources for information about Andrew Jackson include Andrew Jackson's The Hermitage operated by the Andrew Jackson Foundation. You may also wish to work with your local libraries to identify biographies and histories about Andrew Jackson.
