I am currently transcribing and editing early 17th and 18th century court documents for the County of Ulster. I notice that there appears to be some kind of symbol that looks like a q or g. Does anyone know the significance of this?
When a doc is a generic form and the person filling it out only checks and fills out the appropriate answer how should we transcribe? There is one I particularly like on yourdictionary.com. You can plug the letters you can read into the program and use two wildcards for those you can't.
