Hello Mr. Torres,
Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!
Veterans may use eVetRecs to request their own records by stating that you seek every page of your record. See eVetRecs Help for instructions and for more information see Request Military Service Records. If the vet is still living, only the vet, a power of attorney, or third party authorized by the vet or POA can access the full OMPF. All others must file FOIA.
You may also complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA's National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002. If there is any information requested by the form that you do not know, you may omit it or provide estimates (such as for dates), but the more information you provide, the easier it will be to locate the correct file. For more information see Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF).
Response times from NPRC vary depending on the complexity of your request, the availability of the records, and their workload. The NPRC staff works actively to respond to each request in a timely fashion, but keep in mind they receive approximately 4,000 - 5,000 requests per day. If your request is urgent, please see Emergency Requests and Deadlines.
We hope this information has been helpful!

I have requested and received my DD214 but it doesn't say foreign service in Vietnam and I need proof that I was in Vietnam for the PACT Act. They say it may have been a clerical error since I know for a fact I was in Quang Tri. How else can I prove this?
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub.
A user of the History Hub appears to have answered your inquiry already. We hope that the information provided is helpful.
To reinforce what has been posted, the National Personnel Records Center may be the best source. Be certain to request your complete file and not just a DD-214. Unit rosters similarly may be in its custody, so you may wish to ask about them as well if you can specify the unit and dates in country.
Depending on the branch of service, additional records may be at our facility in College Park. For example, its Textual Reference Branch has operational records of Army units in Vietnam. Although they rarely include names of individuals, they may be useful to verify that a unit was in country.
Another possibility may be to check pay records for combat pay. For questions about pay for Army personnel, please contact the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS). Its website is https://www.dfas.mil/.
If you have additional questions about records in our custody, please email us at inquire@nara.gov so that we can assist you further. We also invite you to continue the conversation with community members on History Hub.
We hope that this information assists you with your research.
Sincerely,
Textual Reference Archives II Branch (RR2RR)
