Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!

We have located the requested Deck Logs and we have added the logs to our Deck Log redaction queue. These records were located in Record Group 24: Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel, Entry P 118-G/P 118-F, Series: Logbooks of U.S. Navy Ships. Since the deck log file contains instances of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), we will redact the scanned copy in accordance with FOIA exemption (b)(6). Once the Deck Log has been redacted the digital images will be added to our online Catalog. You are welcome to periodically check the Catalog for uploads. We encourage you to search for the name of the ship without using “USS” as a prefix. Our catalog of digitized Navy Deck Logs is available in our online Catalog within Record Group 24, Entry P 118, use the “Search within this Series” bar to search for a specific ship. While we have added the requested Deck Log to our queue, due to our current backlog of redaction requests we are unable to provide specific details, estimations, or time tables on when the requested log will be made available on our online catalog. The current quantity of requests has greatly increased our backlog resulting in a substantial delay from time of request until upload on our Catalog. We recommend periodically checking the Catalog for new uploads. Please note there may be a significant delay due to our volume of requested deck logs.

We hope this assists you with your research!

    Sincerely,
