I am searching for my dad's USMC. Please help

Question

My sister and i are desperately searching for our dad's USMC photo in his uniform. His parents are both deceased and he doesn't have one. How can we possibly find one? 
 I have his service number.

Thank you for posting your question on History Hub! The Still Picture Branch does not have collections of portraits/headshots, group photos, or yearbooks created during basic training. According to the military, graduates&rsquo; formal photos, both individual and group as well as yearbooks, were created by private local commercial photographers/companies and offered for sale at the time taken. Unfortunately, those items rarely became part of official military records nor were they retained by the commercial photographers responsible for shooting the photos. We do have many candid photos of U.S. military personnel but many of them do not provide identification for the people shown. Hi, 
 I would suggest looking on eBay for his marine corps recruit depot yearbook. You'll need to know what year he graduated boot camp. You may need to narrow it down further, I don't know if hand how many different yearbooks there were each year. Some eBay and other book sellers seem to have quite a few different years available. That's for marines who did basic in California. I don't know what the situation is for yearbooks for marines who did basic in Parris Island. 
 You find the yearbook and then of course all marine pictures in dress blues are there in alphabetical order. Small size pictures but still. Hope this helps.
