In regards to the official Navy photographs, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Still Pictures (RRSS) at stillpix@nara.gov to inquire about whether they would have an interest in these records as well as potential classification status.

In regards to his personal journals, The National Archives is the repository for the permanently valuable records of the U.S. Government.  We do not solicit or collect private, unofficial manuscripts, diaries, memoirs, or other artifacts created by individuals while in the armed forces.  There are a number of organizations, however, that do collect such materials.  We suggest you contact the following: 

– Naval Historical Foundation

– National WWII Museum

– Center for the Study of War and Society

– Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress

– Pearl Harbor National Memorial

– Pearl Harbor Historic Sites

– The National Museum of the Pacific War

– Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum (Hawaiʻi State Museum of Natural and Cultural History)

– Hawaii State Library

– Other museums with a relevant military history focus

– The library of any university or college that he attended, as well as local historical societies where he lived
