Seeking photos of training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Chicago, Ill. after Sept. 1942

My Uncle, Joseph Ercel Kincaid b. 7-29-1920, was killed on the USS Indianapolis on 7-3-1945. He had his training at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago, Ill, probably 1941-1943? I would like to know if they have any yearbooks of those years and the date he may have graduated?

  • Thanks so much for the information. I actually have most of this information already, but I appreciate your help. Do you have any way of checking the records for the Great Lakes Naval Training Station? I guess now that I know his enlistment date, that will narrow down when he may have been there. Although he enlisted in Cleveland, O., I don't know how soon they have to go to bootcamp. I'm assuming sometime the first part of Sept. 1942, and I don't know how long bootcamp is to know when he would've graduated. But 1942 would be a place to start. Thanks again! Karen
