Where do I send evidence that USS Cohoes should be eligible for combat action ribbon?

Sorry for late reply but your password renewal..essayed prompted me.

I want to provide evidence that the USS Cohoes AN78 was under rocket attack back in 1968 when it was an in-country assigned Salvage ship. I was the XO and have deck log proof. The ship should be eligible for combat action ribbon. Not sure where to sent my info. Thanks

The National Archives has no authority to determine eligibility for medals or awards not already awarded by the Navy.

Ultimately the decision would be made by the Navy Department Board of Decorations and Medals, which can be contacted at Navyboardofdecorations@us.navy.mil.

If you would like, you can first contact the Fleet History team of the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) and they can review your information and advise you on further actions. Their point of contact is Anna Holloway at anna.g.holloway3.civ@us.navy.mil.
