Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!
For information related to Patrick Joseph Cullen we suggest that you request a copy of his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). OMPFs for those who separated from the U.S. Armed Forces before October 2002 are in the custody of NARA's National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) in St. Louis. In many cases where Army and Air Force personnel records were destroyed in the 1973 fire, proof of service can be provided from other records such as morning reports, payrolls, and military orders, and a certificate of military service will be issued. Navy and Marine Corps OMPFs were not affected by the fire. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA's National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002. Veterans and next of kin of deceased veterans also may use eVetRecs to request records. See eVetRecs Help for instructions. Certain information in the records is not available to the general public without the written consent of the Veteran or the next of kin the deceased veteran. If you are the next of kin of a deceased veteran, you must provide proof of death of the veteran such as a copy of death certificate, letter from funeral home, or published obituary. For more information see Request Military Service Records.

I have contacted Nara for information. They said files destroyed in fire. I am trying to find out if Patrick Joseph Cullen, born 14-03-1906, died 05-01-1967, buried in Veterans grave in Long Island is my uncle. Cemetery will not give any information
According to Ancestry.com, he was born in Ireland to James Kelly and Mariah Kelly, emigrated to the United States on 6 May 1929 through the Port of New York, was living in Sewickley Heights, PA in 1942 and Jamaica, Queens, New York on 11 April 1950.
Hope that helps.
Correction. James Cullen, not James Kelly.
Thanks. I have that information. I am trying to find his death certificate.

The federal government does not ordinarily create or maintain birth, death, marriage, divorce, adoption, or burial records. Such records are made and kept by state and local governments rather than the National Archives. For information on these records, contact the appropriate state, territory, or local bureau of vital statistics. To locate the state or territory office to contact regarding vital records, please visit: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w.htm.

If he died in Queens, NY New York City would have his death certificate:
https://www.nyc.gov/site/doh/services/birth-death-records-death.page
I do not know where he was living when he died. Queens may not be correct address
There is no "Veterans Cemetery" on Long Island, NY. Patrick Cullen is buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, SECTION 2Q SITE 2983. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Army during World War II. Is he buried with a spouse or child? You should be able to tell from your family genealogy if he was the brother of your father (your uncle). Fold3 has draft registration card for him(?) born in Janesburg, Ireland and living in Sewickley, PA in July 13, 1942. It lists a friend living in Seacliff, NY. Hope this helps.
