You could request a copy of your uncle’s Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). In general, OMPFs for military personnel who were separated from the service between 1912 and 1999 are serviced by NARA's National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) in St. Louis.
While it would not contain information about whether the emblem was received while in service, it may contain information on if a replacement set of awards was issued by the NPRC. You can make a request for them online here; please provide as much information as possible.
