I know that many WWII miltiary records were destroyed in the 1973 fire. I was wondering if anyone could suggest alternate records I could
search for my Grandfather's timeline movements from training at different forts before being shipped overseas. I believe he trained at Fort Levett MA,
Fort Monroe VA, and Camp Pendleton VA, Camp Pickett VA and Camp Hood Texas. He served with the "240th Coast Artillery regiment, and the "47th Coast Artillery regiment" that was
formed at Camp Pendelton in early 1943. Does anyone here have a relative who may have served in either of these units?
