Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The soldier’s Branch of Service is the U.S. Army, and “ASU5025” is most likely a unit designation - the 5025th Army Service Unit.
We searched our non-digitized finding aids to the series World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 (entry NM-3 427) in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office (Record Group 407), and we also searched within the series Unit Histories, 1943-1967 (entry UD 37042) in the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338), but we were unable to locate any records for this specific unit in our holdings.
If you are interested in learning more about the 5025th Army Service Unit, we suggest that you contact the U.S. Army Center of Military History or the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, which has a large collection of published unit histories, directly for further assistance. You may also wish to search their websites for additional information and resources.
We invite you to continue the conversation with community members on History Hub, but should you have follow up questions for the staff at Archives II, please email us at archives2reference@nara.gov so that we can assist you further.
We hope this is helpful for your research!
Sincerely,
