Seeking for OSS Deer Team footages of Vietnam proclaim of indepedence Sep 2, 1945

Thank you for posting your question on History Hub! The Still Picture Branch staff have previously conducted many searches for photographs related to the OSS Deer Team in Vietnam from 1945 in our Series of OSS Records (RG 226) and, unfortunately, we have been unable to locate related images within the Still Picture Branch’s holdings.

With that said, you can find this History Hub post from February 2022 outlining related OSS Deer Team records held by the National Archives at College Park Textual Reference here:  https://historyhub.history.gov/military-records/army-and-air-force-records/f/army-air-force-records-forum/18214/seeking-photos-of-oss-deer-team-in-vietnam. It is possible that there are photographs mixed in with textual records. Oftentimes if a photograph was included in a textual report, the photographs would not be separated from the textual records. We conducted a search of our online catalog and onsite resources under the search terms, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Deer Team, Vietnam AND Independence and OSS Deer Team. Unfortunately, we did not locate any records of interest.  It is possible that the footage exists, but the description is not in detail enough to locate the footage and you may need to visit our location in College Park, MD to continue your research. You may wish to hire a professional researcher to assist with your project.
