1st infantry regiment of Virginia

I was wonder what resources on the history of the 1st infantry regiment of Virgina 

during the War of 1812.   Relative - Joseph Saunders fought for the militia.   

He was from Loundon County and later moved to Ohio.

    Specifically, we searched Record Group 98: Records of United States Army Commands (1784-1821) and we were unable to identify any records pertaining to the 1st Infantry Regiment of Virginia during the War of 1812.
    Other information---if it exists---may be dispersed elsewhere among the records but identifying all potential records will require more detailed research than we are staffed to provide. We regret that we cannot assist you further.
