Hello, seeking assistance or guidance regarding my my great uncle. I requested all his records from the Nation Archives for his WWII service in the US Army, but the response was that all records from a time point were destroyed by a fire. The only document they can find is his discharge form, which showed he earned a Silver Star and Purple Heart. I was hoping they could forward his records, but as said, they were not found.
I am wondering if anyone has a different solution since the National Archives do not have copies. Here is what I know:
Name: Bernice Harden
Grade SSgt
US Army, CO G 12 INF
Date of enlistment: Mar 1943
Date of discharge: September 1945
Last four of service number: 9899
