Coca Cola in Okinawa (Japan) – 1946

We located several references to Coca-Cola in various series within National Archives Record Group 331: Records of Allied Operational and Occupation Headquarters, World War II, 1907–1966 that might contain some relevant information. We also located another reference to Coca-Cola in Record Group 554: Records of General Headquarters, Far East Command, Supreme Commander Allied Powers, and United Nations Command, 1945–1960. These records are in the custody of the Textual Reference Branch at the National Archives in College Park, MD (Archives II). The records have not been digitized. For access to these and similar, please email archives2reference@nara.gov. 

If you have not done so already, we also suggest that you review historical publications like the 1948 "Coca-Cola Overseas". We recommend that you contact the Coca-Cola Corporation directly, too, for more information about Coca-Cola History. We found references, for example, to an unpublished manuscript by Frank H. Moss entitled “The History of Coca-Cola in the Japanese Market as I Lived and Worked It,” which should be in the custody of Coca-Cola’s own corporate archives. The Atlanta History Center may also be able to provide access to their Coca-Cola Archives | Atlanta History Center. 

Finally, we suggest that you contact the U.S. Army Center of Military History or the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center for further assistance. You may also wish to search their websites for additional information and resources.
