Hello
I'm looking for any information on an American German prison camp in Normandy, CCPWE19, which housed 100,000 German soldiers between June 1944 and February 1946: camp management, people who were assigned to it (staff, guards, stewards) and who were kept there (German soldiers). We have the names of the main people in charge, starting with Col. W. J. Kennedy, but we're looking to supplement what we know with American archives, and to find out about other profiles (guards, particularly black GIs, German prisoners).
Can you tell me what military, diplomatic (US embassy in France), photographic, cartographic or other documents the NARA might have?
Could you also tell me about other archives I could contact for this research? I thought of the Eisenhower Library, but perhaps there are other federal archives?
What associations or private archives could I also contact?
Thank you very much for your help. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.
Best regards, Fabien Théofilakis
