Thanks John, but there are so many fake Bushmasters out there I'm seeing if there is something I can prove that this is real.  Like the Quartermaster records for the 158th Infantry Regiment.  The 158th in Panama was the ones who had Bushmasters.  I believe the Eisenhower Library might have those records.

You are correct.  What I did find at the Eisonhower Library (https://www.eisenhowerlibrary.gov/) was 4 boxes that contains information on the 158th Infantry during WWII.  I wonder if they will contain Quartermaster records (rifle serial number) in them. Having fun with researching.

In accordance with U.S. Army records disposition schedules, documents relating to individual weapons would not have been treated as permanent records and transferred to the National Archives.

Please bear in mind that only about 1%-3% of the textual records created by the Executive Branch agencies of the United States government are appraised to be of permanent legal or historical value and accessioned to the National Archives. The remaining 97%-99% are eventually destroyed by the creating agencies, in accordance with their records disposition schedules.
