Insignia Identification Help

Can anyone help me identify the insignia on my great-uncle's Army uniform? I know the shoulder insignia indicates PFC, but I'm trying to figure out what the lapel pins mean. Family legend is that he fought in Battle of the Bulge but I have nothing confirming that so I'm trying to see if these few photos I have of him give me any clues as to what division/regiment he was in. Unfortunately, when I reached out to the National Archives, I was told his military records were lost in a fire back in the 70s. I know this is a long shot, but hoping someone might have any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, He was assigned as an infantry replacement to Co C 119th INF Reg, 30th ID in France on 17 July 1944. On 25 July 44, he was recorded as being sick in the line of duty at a medical clearing station…

I can see the photos now, but not details, like his DUI. If you can provide his full name, date and place of birth; and, if you have them: his service number and date of enlistment, I’ll see what I can find in terms of his unit(s).

DanielMcKone thanks! His name was Walter Stanley Harenda, born in Olean. NY 3/4/1917. He enlisted 11/29/1941 and was HD 11/25/1945. I have a record from the NY Military Museum but it just shows 'state detachment' for his unit so I've hit a dead end. Service number was 20232221. He passed away in October of 2006.
