Hello, I am a local historian from Germany and am looking for information about the 8th Armored division in March
1945

Question

I read the homepage of the 8th armored division. I'm not looking for after action records. I'm interested in what happened between March 2nd, 1945 and March 26th, 1945 outside of the fighting. Which units were stationed in Grefrath (Rhineland) at the time? Are there orders? Are there any pictures or footage?

 The National Archives at College Park, Textual Reference Division (RR2RR) has custody of the series entry Station Lists, 1942 - 1953 within Record Group (RG) 407 Records of the Adjutant General's Office. These lists are arranged by broad geographical location and thereunder by date. The lists are generally monthly or biweekly. Each list is arranged by type of unit and thereunder in order by unit name or number. The nearest town is listed for each unit. Given the arrangement and volume of these lists, going through them to trace particular areas for units is a labor-intensive process. Please keep in mind that units during this time were being billeted at different bases at a rapid pace.  The Textual Reference Archives II Branch (RR2RR) also has custody of unit records for the 8th Armored Division. Military unit files among these records consist mostly of historical reports, operations (or &ldquo;after action&rdquo;) reports, unit journals, and general orders. We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917 - 1985 (Record Group 407) and located after action reports of the 8th Armored Division in box 12751.
