After reading my own question, it might be confusing as to what I am looking for. 

The information you have provided is much appreciated, (and settles a family dispute).

Maybe I should have asked, in what regiment and geographic location was he while he was overseas in the Army?

Member I Company, 157th Infantry Regiment, according to the 3 January 1944 company roster.

Screenshot attached.  Note:  It states he was WIA 15 November 1943.

The I Company Morning Reports will tell you when he joined the 157th

and perhaps clarify the date or dates he was wounded.

If you are interested in researching records related to your father’s unit, the Textual Reference Archives II Branch (RR2RR) has custody of unit records for the World War II era. Military unit files among these records consist mostly of historical reports, operations (or “after action”) reports, unit journals, and general orders. Please be aware that our records (for the most part) are not searchable by name and do not have a name index. Please note that these records are far more accessible at the regimental/battalion level. Therefore, it would be important to know what lower echelon unit your father was assigned to. It may be listed on his final pay voucher.

We searched the National Archives Catalog under series World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 within Record Group 407 Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917 - 1985 and located records of the 45th Infantry Division in boxes 9260-9462. Here's an article from the The Courier-Journal Louisville, Kentucky · Tuesday, November 23, 1943 announcing he was wounded in Italy along with others.   

If he's from McAndrew KY - this is another article from The Lexington Herald
Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday, March 28, 1944 stating he arrived back in the States on the Hospital Ship "Acadia" and was presumably at Stark General Hospital in Charleston SC.
