Where my father was wounded while serving in the 45th

My father, Howard York, said he was with the 45th Infantry Division in Italy. I have no idea which regiment.

He did not talk much about his service, but said he went ashore at Salerno, not necessarily at the landings. He received a Purple Heart for being wounded by shrapnel and had a collapsed lung, for which he received a disability check every month.

I have contacted the NPRC and received a copy of his final pay voucher. His records were destroyed in the 1973 fire.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
