Seeking historical information re: US Army 430th CIC/MI Detachment for publication.

We searched the non-digitized finding aid to the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) records in the series World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 (entry NM-3 427) in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office (Record Group 407) and located several histories for the 430th CIC Detachment under the filing code CIDT-430-0.1. These records have not been digitized. Please email the Textual Reference Branch at the National Archives in College Park, MD (Archives II) at archives2reference@nara.gov for more information about these records.

We also searched within the series Unit Histories, 1943–1967 (entry UD 37042) in the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338), but we were unable to locate any references to the 430th CIC detachment among these records.

Next, we located the file USFA - 430th CIC in box 1 of the series  Correspondence and History Files, 1947–1963 (entry UD-UP 336) in the Records of the Army Staff (Record Group 319). We also located multiple files related to the 430th CIC Detachment in the series Organizational History Files, 1951–1970 (entry UD 1077) in Record Group 319. Hello, 

Have you gathered any information on the 430th CI detachment? My grandfather was in this detachment. This is according to a military service record he wrote in his Bible. My mother searched for information years ago but was told all records were destroyed in a fire in a Kansas City warehouse. I just started trying to gather information again.

Any information you have gathered would be appreciated. I do hope you are successful with your publication and I would love to look at it if/when available.

I would like to have information about the 430th sub detachment in Salzburg. My father, Arthur Dutch Schultz, was agent in charge from 1951 to 1953. I lived there in a large home on Mozartstrasse, but I don’t know much about it since I was a very young child.
