Dependent murders at Kadena AB 1976

We do have some records of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, typically in series among the Records of U.S. Air Force Commands, Activities, and Organizations (Record Group 342).  However, we have been unable to locate records on murders at Kadena Air Base in the mid-1970s among them.  Searches of other records of the Air Force which dealt with Kadena were similarly unsuccessful.

Although unlikely, information on your unit or other units involved could lead to additional series to consider.  We might have unit records, but you also may wish to contact the Air Force Historical Research Agency, 600 Chennault Circle, Building 1405, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL  36112-6424.  Its website is https://www.afhra.af.mil/.  Additional records could be in its custody.

I was stationed at Kadena during that time with the 18SPS. We worked closely with the K9 officers and I’m sure we met. I was told that the young lady killed in the cap was killed by a marine stationed there. Hopefully you can get the information from Maxwell.
