Lt Vasser Army Air Corp WWII MIA/ KIA, flying P-39, Mediterranean. Did not return from mission.

Question

Limited Info I was told 75 years ago visiting parents/relatives. Returning from mission low on fuel, broke away from flight to chase JU-88. Did not return. No time period. Family was from Atlanta Georgia but have not found any VASSER listed in Georgia WWII deaths. Looking for flight records of the event. His death was posted in Atlanta, Georgia Newspaper. I lost my copy of the newspaper clipping. Any place I can do a word search for his name? At a loss as to where to search now. Have something in common, shot down in Vietnam.

No. the newspaper stated Lt. Vasser. Could have been his obituary. I assume it was the Atlanta paper. Family lived in Atlanta, Ga. He was not married. No idea where he may have called his home of record.
