Thank you for posting your question to the History Hub.
If the loading manifests were retained, they may be part of the series World War II Operations Reports from National Archives Record Group 407: Records of the Adjutant General’s Office. According to the finding aid for the series, there are numerous after action reports, operations reports, unit histories, journals, periodic reports, final reports, and general orders for the 82nd Airborne Division. Additionally, the records for the 82nd Airborne also include a few files that are specifically related to several glider infantry regiments and glider field artillery battalions.
These records are in the custody of the Textual Reference Branch at the National Archives in College Park, MD (Archives II). You can contact them directly at archives2reference@nara.gov with questions about the records or to request reproductions. Be sure to include as much information as possible (e.g. unit numbers, dates) in your inquiry.
Thank you, again, for sharing your question with us, and good luck with your ongoing research.

joan stachnik Dec 14, 2017 12:22 PM (in response to Rachael Salyer)Just a follow-up question, do you think loading manifests might be with reports of the Troop Carrier Groups or squadrons also? Such as morning reports or after action reports? Thanks, joan

4 people found this helpfulDear Ms. Stachnik,
If you know the specific Troop Carrier, you may be able to find some relevant records in the series World War II Combat Operations Reports in National Archives Record Group 18: Records of the Army Air Forces. Please email the Textual Reference Branch at Archives II (see above response) with questions about this series.
We also suggest that you contact the Air Force Historical Research Agency to see if they can offer you any further assistance. Their website is http://www.afhra.af.mil/.
Thank you, again, for posting your questions to the History Hub.

Check out a facebook group called honouring ix troop carrier command. Neil was instrumental in locating my Dad's glider that crashed on June 7. I was recently in Normandy. We actually had the date corrected to June 7 from June 6 because of him. My Dad was on LJ-135 a Horsa glider. It had 16 fatalities. My Dad survived with serious injuries and was presented a purple heart. What was your father's name? We were able to visit the crash site and place flowers there and in four of the fatalities at the cemetery.

joan stachnik Oct 18, 2019 9:01 AM (in response to bananee)Hi Ann, Thanks for the extra information. The Troop Carrier Group on Facebook has been very helpful, along with some other research groups. But I think loading manifests are almost impossible to find.
So nice that you were able to visit Normandy and honor those who died there. Thanks, joan
