Seeking family of Dr David Karp

    Dan Atoms Newbie

Hello.  This information appears on the WW2 dog tag - Dr. David Karp; P.A. Surgeon; T/4/42; USPHS   O.  I am currently an officer in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) too and I assume Dr. Karp was a USPHS Surgeon Physicians Assistant or maybe from Pennsylvania.   I can’t tell what type of tag it is but it is oval, about 1 1/4 inch long and has a hole in each end. Trying to find the family. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you all!  I found the son of Dr. Karp by locating Dr. Karp's historical address and looking for his children by name in the area.  I randomly called someone and it was the son.  Dr. Karp was a USPHS Pediatrician from Boston.  He was deployed to Delaware to serve with the Coast Guard during WW2.  After a long and fulfilling career, Dr. Karp died in 1986.  His children are still alive and it was nice to speak with them, verify the family, and return these dog tags to his family.  Thank you all for your help.
