Seeking Military History: Matthew Campbell, African American Marine in WW II

    Zainab Ghani Newbie

I am seeking the military history of Mathew Campbell. He serviced in the U.S.M.C.R.  in WWII in the South Pacific Theater in China. He was born January 21, 1920; Enlisted Enlisted August 2,1943, I believe he was activated on December 2,1943 at Montford Point, Camp LeJuene, New River, North Carolina; As PFC Campbell served in 3d Ammunition Company Ambiliphans; Discharged on February 25, 1946 at Montford Point. Matthew Campbell died on November 30, 2008. According to Matthew "he witnessed the one of the bombs dropping and he was deployed onto the island after the bomb had dropped and found of the landscape was completely white, no buildings or trees, if he touched a tree it would just fall down in dust" and he also "mention he was in some military combat" Please advise how I can obtain this history and perhaps his service records if available. Thank you for any assistance.
