          Dear Marcia Sullivan,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

The amount of information available in our holdings about Navy ships and units is extensive.  In order to locate records relating to your request, we will require very specific information about the materials that you wish to research.  The Finding Aids Related to WWII at NARA provides links and citations to finding aids published and/or compiled by NARA related to its extensive holdings on World War II.  Scroll down to the section titled “Military Agency Record Groups” and scroll down the alphabetical list to the Naval records.  As for the location of these records, most of the Record Groups relating to the Navy and World War II are located at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland.

As a public health precaution due to COVID-19, all National Archives research rooms nationwide, including those at Presidential Libraries, are closed to the public until further notice. Please check NARA’s web page about COVID-19 updates for the latest information. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.

We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
