I am trying to confirm that my Great Grandmother did not naturalize on her own. She arrived in Philadelphia in 1907 and died in 1971, living in Philadelphia her whole life. She obtained derivative citizenship through her husband in 1921; I obtained those records from NARA in Philadelphia. I would also like to confirm that there is no record for her naturalizing in Philadelphia county courts. Is there a way I can make that search request? Thank you
Dear Ms. Ford,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We suggest that you request a certification of non-existence of a record of naturalization from USCIS (Genealogy Frequently Asked Questions - see About Further Research section), as well as submit an Index Search request to the USCIS Genealogy Program. USCIS should be able identify any naturalization records that exist for your great-grandmother.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
