Seeking parents of Prince Johnson

I want to trace back my black ancestors back to Africa. I am currently trying to find out the parents of my 4th great-grandfather named Prince Johnson. He was born in 1820 in Hampton, South Carolina. He died in South Carolina unknown date. He has a son named Prince Johnson Jr. born in 1862 and died in 1927 both in Hampton, South Carolina. He has a son named Coy Johnson born in 1906 in Allendale, South Carolina and died in 1975 in South Carolina. Please help me find Prince Johnson's parents.

We suggest that you request a search from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History for resources such as photographs, maps, estate records, wills, biographies, journals, and local histories that may help you research the ancestry of Prince Johnson. We also suggest that you search the Slave Data Collection index and review the FamilySearch Research wiki for Hampton County, South Carolina Genealogy

In addition, the National Archives African American Heritage website, the FamilySearch research wiki on African American Resources for South Carolina as well as the document Federal Records that Help Identify Former Slaves and Slave Owners may be useful.
