Dear Mr. Abril,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Navy and Marine Corps casualty records from 1940-1989 are in the custody of the National Archives at St. Louis (RL-SL). For more information about these records, please contact RL-SL via email at stl.archives@nara.gov.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RL-SL. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
For information about U.S. servicemen missing during WWII, we suggest you contact the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Public Affairs Office, 2300 Defense Pentagon, ATTN: External Affairs, Washington DC 20301-2300. The web site is https://www.dpaa.mil/
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!

Elliot Schneider Dec 18, 2020 2:03 PM (in response to Francisco Abril)Francisco,
Are you looking for a particular individual. I know Army IDPFs basically tell the story in some cases where they were location, how they were Killed sometimes I've seen pretty gruesome reports and others not so much details.
Thanks,
Elliot Schneider

Francisco Abril Dec 18, 2020 2:24 PM (in response to Elliot Schneider)Its more of a general question, that came about thinking of George C Estrada, from the USMC that was casualty during the Saipan invasion in June 1944. I believe his body was not recovered, so I was wondering if those cases also have an IDPF.
