We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Reports of Persons and Articles Hired, 1818 - 1905 in the Records of the Office of the Quartermaster General (Record Group 92) that may have a record of him. This series is partially indexed by Index to Scouts Mentioned in Reports of Persons and Articles Hired, 1861 - 1891 in Record Group 92, which despite its title, does not cover only scouts but includes additional types of hired persons.
