Dear Ngozi Edeagu,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We suggest that you contact the publisher of the African American newspapers in question to inquire about their export into colonial Nigeria during your requested time frame. The Library of Congress has a listing of historical African American newspapers that may be accessed and searched online.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Thank you Cara Jensen for your swift response and kind wishes.
I will write to the newspapers.
The LOC indeed has a listing of digitised newspapers but not the ones I am working with. These include the Chicago Defender, Baltimore Afro-American, Philadelphia Tribune, Atlanta Daily World, Pittsburgh Courier and New York Amsterdam News.
The Philadelphia tribune is still being published here in Philadelphia, PA. Perhaps they can give you more information.
Also, families of missionaries or of the family who moved there, may have sent the papers to them.
