Dear Ms. Oots,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Federal court records and US Marshal records for Illinois are located at the National Archives at Chicago (RM-CH). Please contact RM-CH via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a search for records relating to this case.
Also, there may be an associated Department of Justice case file. We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the General Index to Litigation Case Files, 1904 - 1951 in the General Records of the Department of Justice (Record Group 60) that indexes the case files for this time period. To request a search of the index, please contact National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at Archives2reference@nara.gov with the full names of the persons arrested.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RM-CH and RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Thank you so much! I'll email my inquiry to the appropriate places (but will expect lengthy waits). I am most appreciative of your guidance!
