Dear Mr. McKeown,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
For the meaning of some of the codes, please see the pamphlet produced by the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. For additional codes, we suggest you contact the Air Force Historical Research Agency, 600 Chennault Circle, Building 1405, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL 36112-6424. The web site is https://www.afhra.af.mil/.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Thank you very much for your assistance. I appreciate the advice!
I don’t have a clue about the Mission Symbol codes; however a good list for the K-XX airfields can be found in Wikipedia under “USAF units and aircraft of the Korean War. Scroll to the bottom of the web page for the list. Some of the airfields have their own Wikipedia entries. There is also a map with labels in the USAF official history “The United States Air Force in Korea 1950-1953” by Robert Futrell (GPO, 1983) on page 644.
As for the “classified” mission entries, you would have to work with the folks at Maxwell.
I hope this helps a bit.
