1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Roccia,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Since Conchetta immigrated to the U.S., we search the National Archives Catalog and located a series titled Alien Case Files (A-Files), 1944-2003 in the Records of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (Record Group 566). The series is searchable by first name and/or surname. The search results should include the title “Alien Case File for [name]” or “A-File for [name].” We searched for ‘Conchetta Gulianno’ and were unable to locate a match. Learn more about A-Files by viewing NARA’s web pages at https://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/aliens.
The files still may be in the custody of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). The USCIS maintains all A-Files that have not been transferred to the custody of the National Archives. If the Alien Registration Number is below 8 million, please contact the USCIS Genealogy Program (www.uscis.gov/genealogy). If the Alien Registration Number is above 8 million, please submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to USCIS (www.uscis.gov/g-639).
We searched AncestryInstitution and FamilySearch, but were unable to locate information specifically for Conchetta Gulianno who was born in 1875 in Puglia, Italy, and died in 1953 in New Jersey. We did find variations of the name spelling that may be of potential interest to you. There may be a fee for using Ancestry. Instead, you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via a NARA PC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
