The Record Group Explorer presents NARA's Record Groups in descending order from the Record Group with the largest number of textual records to the smallest. The amount of material available in each Record Group is presented in two different ways: by the amount of material scanned and available online, and by the amount of textual records available in total. By clicking on any of the blue boxes, you will see an overview of the scans available online within that Record Group and links that enable further discovery and investigation. To provide a sense of the progress made on online access, each Record Group page has a progress bar that provides an estimate of the percentage of textual pages that are currently available online. Currently, Record Group 21 - Records of the District Courts of the United States has the largest amount of textual pages in its holdings (1.7 billion estimated textual pages), and Record Group 94 - Records of the Adjutant General’s Office has the largest number of scans online (17 million pages of scanned textual pages in the Catalog).
