If you are referring to the tool mentioned here: Students Create Tool Using Records to Help Navy Vietnam Veterans Get Benefits, there may be more information from the University of Virginia News site: https://news.virginia.edu/content/after-court-case-uva-students-tool-could-help-veterans-get-key-benefits
The article also includes a link to a prototype of the tool, although it appears it only contains a small sampling of ship data.

1 person found this helpfulDear Mr. Vaughan,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
In addition to the articles shared by Mr. Cole, the announcement here provides additional information about the creation of the database: Students use open data to help the veteran community. We suggest that you contact Tableau Software for questions about this program. The database created was based on deck logs that were digitized and made available through the National Archives Catalog. To access the logs that have already been digitized, please see our list of Navy Deck Logs Available in the National Archives Catalog. However, the majority of deck logs from the Vietnam Era have not yet been digitized. Therefore, the data in student-made database is incomplete.
The National Archives is currently partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs to digitize all Navy and Coast Guard deck logs for 1956 for 1978. Those logs NOT already available through the Catalog in digital form are closed to researchers while they are being digitized. Please see the blog CLOSED - Vietnam War-era U.S. Navy & Coast Guard Deck Logs for Digitization Project for more information. We hope this information is helpful.
