The GLO records show 45 pages of results and the print-friendly version copies into Excel, but how do I determine how many land patents were actually issued?

Thank you for using the History Hub!
Your question does not have an easy answer. Different types of land patents were issued, and land office jurisdictions did not map perfectly onto county boundaries. For more information on Kansas land offices and how they changed over time, KSGenweb.org has a great page: https://www.ksgenweb.org/archives/1912/l/land_offices.html.
If you have a question about the quantity of patents from a specific land office, or the quantity of a certain type of patent from a specific land office, Archives 1 reference (archives1reference@nara.gov) would be happy to help you.
I wish you all the best with your research!
Sincerely,
Archives 1 Reference Branch (RR1R)
