I am looking for Leonie Schacherl born in Vienna 14.01.1896
What exactly are you seeking to find in regards to this person? Was he ever in the United States, and if so when?
She was born in Austria and in 1915 she lived in Hungary which is now Slovakia. I can't find her any further. I assume she left for America.
I can see that in Dec 1915 Leonie is looking for her mum and she is listed a few times in 1916 too. In both cases Leonie seems to be living in “Pozsony”(?).
However, a few years later Leonie can be found in the “Austrittsbüchern” der IKG Wien …. On 22 Oct 1919 Leonie Schacherl converts from Judaism: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-G1KJ-SJ5?i=611 (Group #1297, third name in this group)
Thank you for clarifying your question.
The web page Browse Available Records by Port of Entry provides a list of ports of entry from this time period for which there are records. In addition, we suggest that you review the information and resources available on the National Archives website, including Immigrant Records at the National Archives, Immigration Records, and Passenger Arrival Records. We also suggest that you review the History Hub blogs Passenger Arrival Records at the National Archives, Passenger Arrival List Research Tips, and Immigration and Naturalization Records: Where are they?.
Some of the arrival records have been digitized and are available online using the National Archives Catalog. Please note that these records are usually NOT name searchable using the National Archives Catalog. Others are available from sites like Ancestry and FamilySearch, which often provide an option for searching by name. The “Browse by Port of Entry” page provides links to Catalog descriptions and digitized records. Please note that there may be a fee for using Ancestry. Instead, please check for access at your local library, since many library systems subscribe to genealogical sites and make them free for their patrons to access. FamilySearch may be used with a free account.
Please note that passenger arrival records may use variant name spellings, and also may not include sufficient identifying information to be sure which of multiple people with the name of your subject is the correct one.
We hope this is helpful with your research!
Thank you! After 1919 she is no longer to be found. What possibility do I have to find her? In Poszony now Bratislava she is not to be found
I’ve seen various German marriage events where Jews converted to Christianity in order to marry a “gentile”, so I’m wondering whether that might have been the reason for Leonie’s conversion. Additionally, her mum seemed to have been in Vienna in 1915 and also in 1941 at the time of her probable death, so I would not be amazed if Leonie had remained in Vienna after 1919.
In that case there could be a Viennese church marriage for Leonie around 1920 (I believe civil marriages had not started yet), but unfortunately there were so many churches in Vienna and no central index currently. If we could determine the area where she (and mum?) had been living, the number of possible churches might be able to be narrowed down.
Currently I can’t see any indication that she might have emigrated from Europe.

This is what I found.
