Records of Saturnia ship movements 1957

Hello - I am looking specifically for records from the Saturnia between September-October 1957.  My father-in-law and his older sister emigrated from Italy as children by themselves on that ship and cannot remember the exact dates.  I've tried the National Archives, but without the "exact arrival date" in New York, I've been told the passenger records are unavailable.  So, now I'm on a quest to locate the exact date that the ship arrived in New York.  They embarked in Naples, Italy in late September and BELIEVE they arrived on/around October 2nd (but that date turned up nothing with the National Archives database).

Does anyone know where the best place to locate the records of when the ship made its ports of call??  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

The National Archives has immigration records for arrivals to the United States from foreign ports between approximately 1820 and December 1982 (with gaps). Many of the Passenger Arrivals for New York have been digitized and are available online. For information about these resources, please consult our webpage https://www.archives.gov/digitization/digitized-by-partners. Please note that researchers can access these online resources free of charge from any NARA facility.
We performed a search of the passenger arrival lists for New York for 1957. Unfortunately, it appears that the passenger arrivals for New York for October 1957 no longer exist. Due to a change in the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) microfilming procedures during the late 1940s, some passenger arrival records for vessels were destroyed prior to filming and prior to their transfer to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Please see our website for more information on the passenger arrival records in our custody: https://www.archives.gov/research/immigration.

We hope this assists you with your research!
