Born 1902 arrived in US nov 19 1919 in Philadelphia Pa
I see arriving Philadelphia PA on Nov. 17, 1919 on the SS Caserta one Vincenzo Mori age 17. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9P18-9ZSM?view=index&action=view registration required, but it's free. I see on his manifest line 6-42253 c/a and stamped July 13, 1936. Those are searches for his Certificate of Arrival. The court asking for it (6-) was based in Pittsburgh PA... and included MD panhandle, Western OH, an Western PA. see https://www.jewishgen.org/InfoFiles/Manifests/ and https://www.jewishgen.org/InfoFiles/Manifests/occ/do33-43.html for how I arrived at that. The Certificate of Arrival number won't easily/directly get you to his naturalization documents. But it looks like he either started the process around July 1936....probably needed to submit then his Declaration of Intention...... and then at least 3 years later he submitted his Petition. So a little closer to whether he completed the process. Also see: www.pa.gov/.../naturalization-and-immigration.html
Oh my gosh Joel thank you so much
Joel do you know anyone that retrieves all this documentation so I can apply for my dual citizenship. I’m just starting on this quest
HistoryHub gets many questions about dual citizenship. Do a search on the answered queries on "dual citizenship". You may see: https://www.uscis.gov/g-1041a that will provide certified copies of documents which you will need. But it takes a very long time for them to reply.
Thank you for posting on History Hub!
Naturalization records dated prior to October 1991 from the federal courts are at the National Archives. If your great-grandmother was naturalized in a federal court before October 1991, you will need to contact the NARA field site that maintains federal court records for the state where he was naturalized. To determine which facility you need, please visit our webpage at www.archives.gov/.../court-records. Please note that no central index to naturalizations exists.
If your grandfather remained in Pennsylvania and was naturalized in federal court there, we recommend that you contact the National Archives at Philadelphia. Please note the following links to contact that field site:
Finally, please see NARA's Naturalization Records page for more information about the records at https://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/naturalization.
Sincerely,
