I am looking for my ancestor who immigrated to USA (NYC) in 1918 (from Ukraine)

I am looking for my ancestor who immigrated to USA (NYC) in 1918 and was later buried in Manhattan NYC (Olivet Cemetery). His name was Michael Shvets and he was born  in Ukraine (former Russia) in Horodyshche.  He was married to Ms. Eugenie. I cannot find any immigration data about him and/or his wife. Could you help me find me any information on him? Immigration, naturalisation, marriage, kids and any other info you can share? Kind regards,

  • I suppose that It is a matter of following bread crumbs .. most of the time using Family Search.

BTW I’ve seen various newspaper articles regarding his singing career in the US. But, was his original name Mikhail and could this be him singing with Ukrainian Choir Poltava in 1906?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IbS_BME1n4

FYI Eugenie is still avoiding me too much. I assume the couple might have married in Ukraine/Russia, but Eugenie must have been in the States by 1938. I just can’t pinpoint her pre 1938 arrival and can’t be 100% sure that she’s the right one on that 1941 list.
