I am looking for my ancestor who immigrated to USA (NYC) in 1918 (from Ukraine)

I am looking for my ancestor who immigrated to USA (NYC) in 1918 and was later buried in Manhattan NYC (Olivet Cemetery). His name was Michael Shvets and he was born  in Ukraine (former Russia) in Horodyshche.  He was married to Ms. Eugenie. I cannot find any immigration data about him and/or his wife. Could you help me find me any information on him? Immigration, naturalisation, marriage, kids and any other info you can share? Kind regards,

  • It would be helpful if we had his birthdate and place.  Did he come alone or with family to the U.S.?  On what do you base the 1918 arrival year?  Documents?  Links?  What is his first name (hebrew) shown on his gravestone?  What does the U.S. Census show as to his arrival year and his naturalization status?  I found a Mendel Schertz but age 37 arriving Ellis Island 1907 from perhaps the town you show.
