Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!

Naturalization records dated prior to October 1991 from the federal courts are at the National Archives. To determine which NARA field site maintains federal court records for the state where your grandfather was naturalized, please visit: https://www.archives.gov/research/court-records. You will need to work directly with staff in that office in order to locate the requested record.

Please note: Depending on the date of naturalization, the records may exist outside of NARA’s holdings:

    • Naturalization records dated October 1991 and after were created by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and are now with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

    • In most cases, the National Archives will not have a copy of the certificate of citizenship granted to a petitioner – our holdings normally include only the declaration of intention (with any accompanying certificate of arrival) and petition for naturalization.

    • Naturalization records from state or local courts are often at state archives or county historical societies.

For your grandfather’s military record, we searched the Records of the National Archives Administration (Record Group 64), World War II Army Enlistment Records (National Archives Identifier: 604357), which are available online through AAD (Access to Archival Databases) on the National Archives website at: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/. We located a record for Eusebio F. Erazo that includes the service number (06735397) here: https://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-detail.jsp?dt=893&mtch=1&cat=all&tf=F&q=Eusebio+Erazo&bc=&rpp=10&pg=1&rid=231751.

We then suggest that you request a copy of his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). Personnel and medical records of individuals who served in the Army of the Philippines are located at NARA's National Personnel Records Center (NRPC), (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO  63138-1002.  To request these records, please mail a completed GSA Standard Form 180 to NPRC.

We hope this assists you with your research!

    Sincerely,

Textual Reference Archives II Branch (RR2RR)
