Do you have 1846 Irish famine naturalization or passenger lists?

  1. I am looking for information on John & Margaret McKenna passengers on The Brothers Ship that came to New York New York April 23,1846 from Newry Ireland. Is there any info about the their ship or naturalization records? Any info if they went through Ellis Island or Castle Island?

  • Ellis Island was in operation starting in 1892..... so that's out for your 1846 arrival.  Where specifically did you get the arrival information?  Is the date an arrival date or a departure date?  A link would be nice.  Is "The Brothers" the name of the ship?  If I search at https://stevemorse.org/ellis2/elliswhite.html a free site, for Last Name McKenna arriving 1846... and nothing else, I get 86 possibilities at the Ellis Island Foundation site the search points to (registration required, it's free).  Go through the list looking for a John and Margaret arriving on the same ship name... and then see more information on them to see if there is a match.
